Cards on the table. I have concerns with RFK Jr. when it comes to vaccines and abortion, and the number of conservatives calling on food to be banned gives me the ick. I’m also old enough to remember before Pfizer became a wing of the Democrat Party when we were allowed to criticize Big Pharma, and Kennedy is a better pick for HHS than anyone Kamala Harris would have chosen. Plus, the media hates him, as this New York Times “fact” check will tell you. That alone makes him qualified to run things.

It’s not just the NYT. Politico brought the unironic comedy, lamenting that lobbyists are upset about the RFK Jr. pick.

But the NYT found a way to attack him while also exposing how “fact” checking is b-b-b-bullshit. It’s all about Froot Loops. Kennedy laments about you comparing the American ingredients to the Canadian ingredients; Canada’s is made with healthier stuff. A journalismer for the Times says that ain’t true.

He was wrong on the ingredient count, they are roughly the same. But the Canadian version does have natural colorings made from blueberries and carrots while the U.S. product contains red dye 40, yellow 5 and blue 1 as well as Butylated hydroxytoluene, or BHT, a lab-made chemical that is used “for freshness,” according to the ingredient label.

RFK Jr’s point was that in other countries, their processed food is processed with better (and natural) things. Froot Loops and Canada was merely an example. But the New York Times nitpicked over the definition of “too many” and “fewer” as an excuse “fact” check Kennedy as saying something that isn’t true. The ingredients of the two cereals are mostly the same.

Except for a few artificial colors and chemicals. Which was RFK Jr’s f*cking point.

Maybe they talked to the same lobbyists that Politico spoke to?

This is Exhibit Q on media “fact” checking being b-b-b-bullsh*t. In the eyes of the journalismer assigned to do the Left’s bidding in criticizing a Trump appointee, they claimed something Kennedy said wasn’t true based on him saying “too many” instead of “four.” They don’t even realize they made Kennedy’s point for him.
