“Time to do something different.”
During Monday’s Morning Joe, MSNBC hosts and Trump critics Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski revealed they visited Mar-a-Lago for a meeting with Donald Trump — their first real discussion with the President-elect in seven years.
“Five years of political warfare has deeply divided Washington and the country. We have been as clear as we know how in expressing our deep concerns about President Trump’s actions and words in the coarsening of public debate,” Brzezinski said.
“But for nearly 80 million Americans, election denialism, public trials, January 6th were not as important as the issues that moved them to send Donald Trump back to the White House with their vote,” she continued.
“Joe and I realize it’s time to do something different, and that starts with not only talking about Donald Trump, but also talking with him,” she added.
Scarborough confirmed topics discussed included “abortion, mass deportation, and threats of political retribution against political opponents and media outlets.”
“We talked about that a good bit,” he said.
“It will come as no surprise to anybody who watches this show, has watched it over the past year or over the past decade, that we didn’t see eye to eye on a lot of issues and we told him so.”
Brzezinski then added, “What we did agree on was to restart communications.”

CNN’s in-house Republican Scott Jennings took a jab at the morning hosts — making light of Morning Joe’s narrative whiplash ; “Hitler getting a lot more meeting requests than I would’ve thought.”

The Washington Examiner’s Byron York also blasted the morning crew duo.
“Annals of shamelessness: They call Trump a fascist, and much, much more, and then, just 22 days after his ‘Nazi-like’ rally, they fly to Florida for an audience. Afterward, they say, ‘We didn’t see eye-to-eye on a lot of issues,’ but they want to ‘restart communications.’ What?”
