MSNBC morning hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski trekked to Mara-a-Lago to meet with President-elect Trump:

Seven years after they last spoke to him, MSNBC Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski traveled to Mar-a-Lago over the weekend to meet with President-elect Donald Trump.

“Joe and I realized it’s time to do something different and that starts with not only talking about Donald Trump, but also talking with him,” Brzezinski said. “For those asking why we would go speak to the president-elect during such fraught times, especially between us, I guess I would ask back, why wouldn’t we? Five years of political warfare has deeply divided Washington and the country.”

It took great courage for harsh critics of Literally Hitler™️ to meet with him in person. They must have feared that Literally Hitler™️ would have them thrown in prison, or perhaps sent straight before a firing squad. Happily, that seems not to have happened.

As for what they discussed: “We talked about a lot of issues, including abortion, mass deportation, threats of political retribution against political opponents and media outlets,” Scarborough said.

That is their issue list, not Trump’s. They may have journeyed to Literally Hitler’s™️ lair, but they brought their own preoccupations with them.

The Morning Joe hosts’ MSNBC colleagues didn’t approve of their olive branch:

“Cowardice,” one MSNBC employee reacted to Fox News Digital. “Doing exactly what [anti-Trump historian] Tim Snyder warns on our air not to do: obey in advance. It’s disgusting but frankly unsurprising.”

The source said MSNBC’s rank and file are now “largely disdainful” of the network’s morning stars, saying it “feels like they are just opportunistic.”

Opportunistic, like maybe they don’t want to be completely out of touch, lest their audience shrink even further.

Others have taken to social media to voice their objections. MSNBC contributor Jennifer Rubin called it “disgusting” on Bluesky, the X-like social media site growing in popularity with progressives. MSNBC host Katie Phang offered an indirect swipe, posting on X, “Normalizing Trump is a bad idea. Period.”

Let’s see: Trump has just been elected President of the United States, rather easily, with 312 electoral votes. More than 76 million Americans voted for him, while MSNBC’s daily viewers currently number under a million. So, who’s normal?

The idea that puny MSNBC has the power to “normalize” anyone, let alone a leader who has garnered 76 million votes, is absurd. It shows the delusional mentality that still prevails on the American Left.
