Democrat Sen. John Fetterman is looking forward to voting to confirm a Republican to serve as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.

The Pennsylvania Democrat blasted the international body for its “rank, pervasive antisemitism” in a social media post after a UN special committee report claimed Israel’s conduct in the war with Gaza “is consistent with the characteristics of genocide.”

“Since the beginning of the war, Israeli officials have publicly supported policies that strip Palestinians of the very necessities required to sustain life — food, water, and fuel,” the new United Nations Special Committee report said. “These statements along with the systematic and unlawful interference of humanitarian aid make clear Israel’s intent to instrumentalize life-saving supplies for political and military gains.”

Fetterman, a staunch defender of Israel, blasted the report.

“What’s actually consistent is UN’s rank, pervasive antisemitism. I reject this report in its entirety,” the Democrat posted on X.

He added that he would be voting to confirm Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) who was tapped by President-elect Donald Trump for the role of UN Ambassador, a position once held by Nikki Haley.

“I look forward to voting for @RepStefanik to continue a strong and unapologetic pro-Israel position,” Fetterman wrote.

In naming her for the position, Trump said last week that Stefanik, who’s been serving as the chair of the House Republican Conference, “will be an incredible Ambassador to the United Nations, delivering Peace through Strength and America First National Security policies!”

Trump has also tapped Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) for Secretary of State, a move that Fetterman praised as “a strong choice.” The Democrat also said he was looking forward to voting to confirm Rubio who is an outspoken supporter of Israel.

The Pennsylvania lawmaker declared, “I stand with the truth” in a post on Monday.
