House Speaker Mike Johnson spoke with CNN’s Jake Tapper on State of the Union over the weekend; he says the election shows the American people “demand” the border be secured.
“I know the president said he wants to engage in the largest mass deportation effort in history because that is what is called for,” Johnson told Tapper. “You admitted yourself that there may be as many as twenty million undocumented persons — illegal aliens — in the country.”
Johnson continued: “This is a concern of communities all across America — not just the big cities — but rural areas, as well…we need to send a message that the open door is now being closed and we will restore law and order.”
