Former Senate and gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, R-Ariz., has settled a defamation lawsuit with Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer that centered on Lake’s false allegations that Richer helped steal the 2022 governor election.
Lake lost to Democrat Katie Hobbs in the race for governor in 2022. She also lost to Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., in the 2024 Senate race.
The terms of the settlement reached are private, according to the Washington Post.
