Matt Walsh submitted his wonderful Am I Racist movie for Oscar consideration recently, for Best Picture and Best Documentary, both of which it is qualified for by Hollywood standards.

And, somehow, this hilarious fact is only the tip of the iceberg.

Check this out:

Yes, Matt Walsh beat Hollywood at their own game. He made a documentary more successful than ANY major release in a decade. Bigger than Supersize Me. He’s beating them at their own game at the box office.

The chances of Walsh winning an Oscar are precisely …
Oh, yeah.

ZERO!

However, that didn’t stop Variety, one of Hollywood’s most prestigious publications, from being triggered beyond belief.

Commentators use YouTube, podcasts and op-eds to denounce Hollywood as a “cesspool of liberalism” and a “bubble of elite self-congratulation.” Yet here’s the irony — many of these same voices, who openly deride the industry, quickly seek its validation when they enter its arena.

Yes, Matt Walsh, Sweet Daddy Walsh, is seeking “validation” from the Academy.

Now, don’t get me wrong, there would be nothing more amazing than his film being nominated, of course. And, Walsh makes the point that if things were fair, he would absolutely considered for the awards. But their bubble is obviously too thick to let him in.

And Clayton Davis of Variety is SO confused by this.

So which is it? Do the Oscars truly lack relevance, or do they need to validate right-wing work to prove its legitimacy?

The fact that right-wing work won’t be considered PROVES their illegitimacy. That’s sort of the point.

I won’t spend time defending Walsh here. He’s done that himself pretty well.

And, you better believe that Variety heard it from other conservatives in the replies. Their ability to just not get it is astounding.

There’s nothing in the world thicker than the bubble Hollyweird stays in.
