President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday announced that Chris Wright would be the Secretary of Energy under his administration.
“Chris has been a leading technologist and entrepreneur in Energy,” Trump said in an emailed statement. “He has worked in Nuclear, Solar, Geothermal, and Oil and Gas. Most significantly, Chris was one of the pioneers who helped launch the American Shale Revolution that fueled American Energy Independence, and transformed the Global Energy Markets and Geopolitics.”
Trump stated that Wright would also serve on the newly formed Council of National Energy.
“The Council of National Energy will consist of all Departments and Agencies involved in the permitting, production, generation, distribution, regulation, transportation, of ALL forms of American Energy,” Trump’s statement continued.
Trump has been announcing positions for his upcoming cabinet over the past week.
Recently he announced Karoline Leavitt to serve as the White House press secretary, former Flordia GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz to be Attorney General and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the Health and Human Services Department.
