This is totally off-topic, but I found this clip of Mike Tyson being interviewed by a child reporter about his upcoming bout with Jake Paul absolutely hilarious.

I know I should be writing about Trump, Elon, Matt Gaetz, alphabet ideology, RINOs, election stealing, or some other topic of epic importance.

We are, after all, at the dawn of a new political age.

But watch and see if you don’t laugh your butt off. This was, unironically, the best sports interview I have ever seen. Watch to the end.

When I was a young’un, I read widely in existentialist literature and was sucked in by the ruminations on the meaning of life, authenticity, Nietzschean philosophy, and such things.

I was a very serious young man, you see.

So to see Mike Tyson, the man who bit part of the ear off of Evander Holyfield’s ear, ruminating on the meaning of life to a 9-year-old “reporter” tickles my fancy. I showed it to my wife and she, too, laughed hysterically.

Mind you, we aren’t laughing at Tyson or the child, but the absurdity of the situation. Tyson takes the question seriously, answers it honestly, and treats the child as an adult. Everything he said was perfectly reasonable, whether you agree with him or not. It was in fact a genuine interaction, if strange.

It’s actually a metaphor for the Trump phenomenon, actually. All pretenses are being dropped, and uncomfortable truths are being said. Agree or disagree, love him or hate him, what you see is what you get.

It’s the opposite of what we expect. The establishment approach in politics is mirrored in most sports interviews. You can script it beforehand.

Trump and J.D. Vance are to Mike Tyson as the Establishment is to Ozamataz Backshank.
