The Chairman of the Democratic Party in Texas–can you imagine a more thankless job than that?–ignited a firestorm that has resulted in his resignation after 12 years in the position.

His crime? What was so unforgivable that a man who endured endless hours listening to Beto O’Rourke had to be excommunicated from polite society?

He said this on Austin Public Radio:

You could, for example, you can support transgender rights up and down all the categories where the issue comes up, or you can understand that there’s certain things that we just go too far on, that a big bulk of our population does not support,” Hinojosa told KUT.

Horrors! Some Americans–even enlightened Texans!–think that kids should keep their genitals and boys shouldn’t be peeping at girls in locker rooms.

Unforgivable, and unforgiven, despite abject apologies.

You can’t make this up. It is delicious.

As I have said before, the Democratic Party civil war is going to be glorious to watch now that political gravity has reasserted itself. Democrats who just want to win elections are getting torched by Democrats who want to turn America into Marxististan governed by perverts.

In theory, of course, I desperately want the Democratic Party to moderate in its views because it is good for the country to have healthy political parties–too much power in the hands of any group is unhealthy, and corruption inevitably follows when any group feels secure in its power–but people like Hinojosa and Seth Moulton are just cosplaying moderates.

It would be one thing if they stood up to the alphabet bullies when it counted–after all, with the election of Trump the issue is settled for the moment. But they cowered under their desks or, even worse, egged on the witch hunters going after “transphobes.” They deserve to get burned by the mobs they egged on.

Moulton, at least, is from Salem, Massachusetts, so the witch hunt is at least on brand for them. Hinojosa, though, is in TEXAS, and he is still forced to give tongue baths to freaks who think exposing their genitals to children is a Constitutional right.

We now live in a bizarro world where stating the obvious–stay away from the kids, sicko!–is unforgivable.

Is it any wonder that Democrats, for whom Texas has been the great Blue mirage for a decade, keep losing? Democrats have long believed that demographics is political destiny, and the browning of Texas would lead to ever more power for them as Hispanics welcomed them with open arms and embraced the sweet, sweet smell of drag queen perfume.

Uh, no. Even with a chairman named Hinohosa, Hispanics rejected the stench of moral corruption. And when Hinojosa explained that, perhaps, listening to all these predominately Catholic voters on social issues might be a good idea, he wound up getting burned at the stake.

The irony is that it is Republicans who have become the tolerant ones on LGB issues and Democrats who have gone off the rails into “phobia”-land.

As far as I can tell, Republicans are saying, mostly, “You be you, but leave the kids alone. Do what you like, but quit making everybody else embrace you for your sexual preferences and fetishes.”

We now live in a world where Republicans chuckle and breathe a sigh of relief when reading Nellie Bowles’ TGIF and marvel at her wife’s work at The Free Press, while Democrats scream at gays who oppose grooming children.

The world is weird.
