Ezra Klein, more or less, invented the liberal blogosphere. This is a point of reference for some of you youngbloods who are new to the game. He’s a co-founder of Vox. He’s why there was a “journ-o-list” during the Obama Regime (google it). If you ask me to name a progressive blogger, Ezra Klein is the first name that would come to mind. That’s why it stands out when he talks about Democrat-run cities and sounds like you and me when we talk about Democrat-run cities.

Donald Trump doing better in places like New York City and Los Angeles than any Republican in over twenty years was the thing about the election that surprised him the LEAST.

I come from outside of Los Angeles. I lived in San Francisco until eighteen months ago, and now I live in New York City. The thing that surprised me least about the election was the sharp red shift in these big cities. Because if you just talk to anyone who lives in them, they are furious. And this idea like, “Oh no, the economy is good” or “crime is actually down, this is all just Fox News,” Like, shut the f*ck up with that. Talk to some people who live near you.

Whenever we cover it here on the Louder with Crowder Dot Com website about what sh*tholes some of these progressive-run cities have turned into, it gets framed around “this is what people voted for.” I live in a suburb outside of those cities that has turned ruby red over the past few years because voters look at the neighboring cities and decide we DON’T want it here, so we voted against the party that supports it.

Inside NYC or LA or Chicago, progressive voters have been voting for the same progressive politicians to enact the same progressive policies over and over again for decades. Then they wonder where all the crime, drugs, and homelessness came from.

That changed in 2024. Now, there is an actual Republican ED somewhere in the middle of Chicago, and Republicans in New York elected a state senator in Brooklyn.

Voters in these cities voted for Trump even if they also voted for other Democrats. Hey, a Trump-AOC split-ticket voter is a start. The question is what Republicans are going to do about it from here.

A lot of blue states are blue almost entirely because of how deep blue the cities are. If you removed Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York would be the most competitive state in the country. The municipal and local elections in these cities will take place in 2025.

Voters who you would never assume would vote for a Republican found themselves voting this year for DONALD TRUMP. What’s the plan to make sure they come back to vote for our mayors and councilmen next year?

I’m enjoying the meltdown over Matt Gaetz as much as the next guy. But there’s still A LOT of work to do.
