Sen. Rand Paul has promised to uncover the truth about the COVID-19 pandemic as he prepares to take over the chairmanship of the upper chamber’s Homeland Security Committee.
“I chose to chair this committee over another because I believe that, for the health of our republic, Congress must stand up once again for its constitutional role,” Paul (R-Ky.) said Wednesday.
“This committee’s mission of oversight and investigations is critical to Congress reasserting itself.”
“I think we’re on the cusp of, really, the beginning of uncovering what happened with COVID,” he added.
Paul said his new potion under President Donald Trump will help him uncover what happened with COVID.
“We are going to, hopefully, have a friendlier administration, and we’re hoping that there will be a friendly person at [the Department of Health and Human Services], and we’re hoping they’ll be friendly at [the National Institutes of Health],” he said.
Paul also wowed to end dangerous scientific work — like the gain-of-function research – by spearheading an effort to pass the Risky Research Review Act.
“The biggest item of the COVID coverup is that for years, we’ve known there is this dangerous research,” said Paul.
“The idea that the government would pre-emptively be telling people not to publish things, to me, is horrendous,” he said.
Early this year, Paul called for Dr. Anthony Fauci’s arrest for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“For his dishonesty, frankly, he should go to prison. Do you think the scientific knowledge that was gained from this research was worth the deaths of 20 million people?” Paul said to host John Catsimatidis, referring to Fauci.
“If you lie to Congress, and you’re dishonest, and you won’t accept responsibility. For his mistake in judgment, he should just be pilloried. He should never be accepted.”
“History should judge him as a deficient person who made one of the worst decisions in public health history — in the entire history of the world,” he added.
The Kentucky Republican also said forcing children to “mask up” was “crime against children” during an appearance on FNC’s “Jesse Watters Primetime.”
“It’s a crime against children, and we should never put our kids back into masks.”
“Right now, I’m having a battle with the Senate physician who wants to do three vaccines for all of our pages,” Paul said.
“They are 18 years old, and we now know that, guess what, in America, not one healthy child died from COVID,” he added.
