Steve Bannon was asked for a statement as he headed to court for the WeBuildTheWall fraud pre-trial, and boy did he deliver.
Bannon, who spent four months in federal prison for defying a congressional subpoena, is not letting his legal woes get him down. In fact, he seems energized by President-elect Donald Trump’s win over Vice President Kamala Harris, which he mentioned in his statement.
“How did Pelosi and Tish James like getting their a** kicked on Tuesday? The American people rendered a verdict on their lawfare. You know what the American people told them to do? Go f**k themselves,” Bannon said in a clip shared by Grace Chong.
He also warned outside the courtroom, according to WBTW, “You wait. The hunted are about to become the hunters.”
The fraud trial is expected to begin December 9, with Bannon being accused of conspiring to dupe donors who sent money to build the southern border wall with Mexico. He has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and money laundering, which represents a previous federal case against Bannon that was abandoned following a Trump pardon. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and New York Attorney General Letitia James would later go on to revive the charges on a state level, where Trump won’t be able to pardon Bannon even after he takes the White House next year.
X users agreed with Bannon, and celebrated his stand against the “lawfare” plaguing Trump and his allies:
