The Kamala Harris for President campaign was dubbed the “$1 billion disaster” by a DNC official and financial mismanagement claims are ripe amid rumors that the campaign paid out millions to the likes of Oprah, Beyoncé, and other entertainers to voice their support for the failed Democratic nominee.

In addition to getting soundly thumped by President-elect Donald Trump, Team Kamalot is reportedly $18-20 million in debt. And on that note, a joint fundraising effort through the nonprofit fundraising platform Act Blue is currently underway with the Harris campaign claiming its share is being directed toward a recount effort.

“The first $41,300/$15,000 from a person/multicandidate committee (‘PAC’) will be allocated to the DNC. The next $3,300/$5,000 from a person/PAC will be allocated to Harris for President’s Recount Account,” the fundraising page states.

The Harris Victory Fund campaign is a collaboration authorized by the Harris campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and state Democratic parties, according to Fox News.

However, much like the Harris-Walz campaign struggled with a perception of phoniness, the presidential race is over and there are no recounts underway that would alter the outcome. Trump swept all battleground states and won the Electoral College vote decisively, 312-226.

Interestingly, in the name of unity, Trump offered to help Harris over the weekend with her campaign debt,

“I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 Presidential Election, raising a record amount of money, didn’t have lots of $’s left over. Now they are being squeezed by vendors and others,” he posted on Truth Social.

“Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period, I would strongly recommend we, as a Party and for the sake of desperately needed UNITY, do,” he added. “We have a lot of money left over in that our biggest asset in the campaign was ‘Earned Media,’ and that doesn’t cost very much. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
