The press is hysterical about the prospect of mass deportations of illegal aliens, now that Trump is taking office. A few typical headlines:

* Donald Trump has promised a closed border and mass deportations. Those affected are taking action now (CNN)

* Mayor Adams opposes mass deportation but says he will work with Trump on immigration (PIX 11)

* As Trump prepares for mass deportations, Mexico is not ready (Washington Post)

* What Trump’s mass deportation plan would mean for immigrant workers and the economy (CNBC)

* Mass Deportation: Devastating Costs to America, Its Budget and Economy (American Immigration Council)

* Inside Trump’s plan for mass deportations – and who wants to stop him (Reuters)

* Trump’s Deportation Vow Fuels Fear and a Potential Showdown in New York (New York Times)

Here’s the thing: under the Biden Administration, we had a mass importation (or invasion, or whatever you want to call it) of 10 million or more illegal aliens. Legally, a mass unlawful importation implies a mass deportation. There is nothing mysterious about this. There is no “all are in free” principle in our immigration laws. If liberal journalists didn’t want to see a mass deportation, they should not have cheered on a mass importation. The people who are most blameworthy here are those who assured would-be illegal immigrants that once they got across the border, they were home free.
