New York’s 14th Congressional District, represented by far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, saw an unexpected shift toward Donald Trump in the latest election.

While Ocasio-Cortez’s district had voted heavily for Biden in 2020, this year’s support for Vice President Harris dropped significantly, with Trump gaining a much larger share, the New York Post reported.

This shift reflects a citywide trend, as other diverse districts—like Rep. Grace Meng’s in Queens and Rep. Ritchie Torres’ in the Bronx—also showed stronger support for Trump than expected.

Analysts point to a mix of factors behind the shift, including growing dissatisfaction among working-class and minority voters, particularly Latino and Asian communities, on issues like crime and immigration.

In Ocasio-Cortez’s district, areas with more conservative leanings, such as Throgs Neck and Schuylerville, played a significant role in the swing.
