TOP O’ THE MORNIN’
The Back-Stabbing Between Harris and Biden Begins, and Things Are Getting Very Spicy
That sure feels like poetic justice. Rhetoric did not prevail over tangible policies for once, and that’s a good thing. So let them fight about it. I’ll be here to laugh at all of it.
It’s funny that the left has come out and, almost as if they were all issued the same single talking point on how to respond to their defeat, just blasted well over half the country as racist and misogynist. They’ve repeated that assessment non-stop.
Changes Happening Fast: NYC Mayor Adams Makes Big Immigration Move After Phone Call With Trump
During Trump’s first term, he commuted the sentences of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who were both Democrats. It has been speculated that he could pardon Adams too.
WHAT’S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill…
We’re still waiting on the final Senate tally (with Arizona not formally called). We’ve called Pennsylvania for Dave McCormick, but incumbent Democrat Bob Casey is continuing to fight and now there may be added legal tussles over the provisional ballot issue (the one that the Supreme Court previously declined to take up). The tussle over who will be the next Majority Leader is about to heat up, too.

In the House, the GOP is just two wins away from retaining its majority, and with several races leaning R, the odds appear to be in their favor — but it ain’t over ’til it’s over. We’ll keep you posted.
White House What’s Up
A bright-eyed and bushy-tailed President Joe Biden gave a brief Rose Garden speech Thursday regarding the election and anticipated “smooth transition of power.” (We’ll see. I’m skeptical there won’t be an “insurance policy” — or five — cropping up.) Friday, he’s headed back to the beach at Rehoboth, Delaware.
Post Mortem
We’ll continue this section for a bit, as the never-ending presidential campaign that was continues to wrap up. For now, we’ll derive a measure of gratification from the recriminations.
Full Court Press…
The Daniel Penny trial continues in New York, and, unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like he’s getting a fair shake. This may be another one that will have to be sorted out on appeal.
I’ve been remiss this week in all the focus on the election — I’ve neglected to include a rundown of the cases argued before the Supreme Court. I’ll include those soon in an (overdue) edition of “I’ll Be Brief” — promise.
Lots of speculation regarding prospective Trump cabinet picks. Won’t surprise me at all if there’s a Missourian as Solicitor General — and one as Attorney General. We’ll soon see…

Expect to see some additional movement in the cases involving Trump in the coming days. We’ll bring you updates on them as they become available.
MORNING MUSING
Democrats (the voters, not the party leaders) appear to be falling into three camps post-election:
- Those who appear to be at peace with it (maybe even secretly or sub-consciously relieved) — these are few and far between and won’t generally be found on cable news or expressing their lack of panic while staring into a TikTok vid from their car.
- Those who are unhappy with the outcome and trepidatious as to what it portends — this encompasses the vast majority of “normies” — people who didn’t vote for Trump and will never cotton to him, but aren’t inclined to lose their minds over it and are largely resigned to gritted teeth for the next four years.
- Those who are utterly unhinged about it — entertaining, in some respects, but honestly quite sad, at least for those who aren’t indulging in the madness purely for performative cool points. There are, unfortunately, a number of people who believe the lies they were told by the Dems and the legacy media about Trump being Hitler, ending democracy, etc. They truly think they’re on the verge of being rounded up and sent to internment camps, if not outright maimed or killed. While it’s tempting to shrug and laugh at the insanity, maybe we should also pray that the scales fall from their eyes soon and they can return to being functioning members of society, rather than headless chickens.
