President-elect Donald Trump not only won the 2024 election, but he also claimed territory close to the heart of Gov. Tim Walz.

Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz of Minnesota were soundly beaten on Election Day, but one county in particular has to sting more than any other. Blue Earth County, Minnesota, where the Walz family had lived for 20 years before the governor was elected, went to Trump with 49.6 percent. Harris received 48.3 percent of the vote making it a tight race, but it was clear who the people wanted to see in the White House.
