This came as a shock to many Democrat pundits, as a large majority of media commentators had predicted that Kamala Harris, the Democrat nominee, would defeat the former president in the Georgia election.

Trump received 50.8% of the state’s votes, while Harris received 48.3% of votes.

Biden received 49.5% of the vote in Georgia in 2020, compared to 49.2% for Trump. In 2016, Trump defeated Hillary Clinton by 51% to 46% in Georgia.
