Reports state that Vice President Kamala Harris’ watch party has gone “silent” due to the disappointing election results that keep coming in.

According to CNN Anchor Abby Phillips who reported from the Harris headquarters watch party at Howard University, she said the Democrat’s team is going “silent.”

“I think the operative word is silence,” Phillips reported. “There’s not a lot being said, because the Harris team appears to be searching for bright spots in the map, as these results very very, very slowly come in.”

She continued by stating that in the early evening, her campaign had a positive spin to how the night would play out, but she noted that the energy has since gone down.

There were still a number of large population centers in some of the “blue wall” states like Wisconsin, Georgia, and Pennsylvania that had yet to come in when she made the observation.

“There’s been a slowdown in that spin, because they really are digging into these numbers as they are coming in and trying to understand what’s left out there for them, especially in these big urban centers,” she said.

Phillips also said that Harris campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon had sent a memo stating that their path is the blue wall and that with the margins so small and so slow to come in “we’ll see you tomorrow.”

According to NPR’s Deepa Shivaram, who was also at the Harris election watch party, stated that there “are some nerves” in the crowd and within her campaign. However, they are not counting themselves out of the race quite yet.

Shivaram also noted that the crowd’s mood shifted from celebratory to one of “intense focus.”
