Kamala Harris’ awkward relationship with a key demographic was evident when during an interview with a prominent Muslim influencer she insisted on singing the praises of bacon, so offending the host that it was never released.
On the eve of the election, the New York Times published a profile on Kareem Rahma whose popular online show “Subway Takes” has nearly a million followers combined on Instagram and TikTok, and buried in its story were details of how he was “taken aback” when the veep gushed about how “bacon is a spice.”
It was yet another stunning example of Kamala’s cluelessness in understanding that bacon is not halal since eating pork is forbidden for observant Muslims under Islamic religious doctrine.
This anecdote sums up the Harris bid: the campaign said no to Gaza questions, she talked about bacon instead, accidentally offended the host, and then needed an adviser to provide her with an alternate opinion on pizza toppings. https://t.co/BvHFeTZagf pic.twitter.com/NhDD9sLatH

According to the Times, “Rahma said he had been told that the vice president would be taking a stand against removing one’s shoes on airplanes. When they sat down, however, Harris surprised him with a different take: ‘Bacon is a spice.’ (Two senior campaign officials said this topic had been raised in advance. Rahma and his manager dispute this.)”
“I don’t know,” said Rahma in an unpublished video of the discussion reviewed by the outlet which reported that his voice “rose to an unusually high pitch.”
The host who doesn’t consume pork due to his religion was “taken aback” as Harris goes on to plug how bacon can be used to jazz up any meal when used as a seasoning. “Think about it, it’s pure flavor,” she said.
Rahma then inquired as to whether he could use beef or turkey and what type of dishes could be enhanced by bacon before pausing the interview and informing Harris that he doesn’t eat it.
“He asks if they can do the airplane take instead. But, on the advice of a staffer, Harris decides to declare her love of anchovies on pizza — an alternative the campaign had floated earlier in an email. Rahma wraps the discussion one minute later,” the Times reported.
“Well,” the host said, awkwardly laughing, “I’m 100 percent unsure on both of those.”
Rahma wanted to discuss Harris’ views on the conflict between Israel and the Hamas terror organization in Gaza which is an issue of great importance to Muslim voters but was “rejected” by her handlers, although the campaign did agree that she would serve up a “hot take” about people being made to take their shoes off on airplanes.
According to the Times, he “ultimately agreed to the terms, reasoning that he could choose not to publish the video if it made him uneasy,” saying afterward that “he felt unsure of what to make of the sit-down with Harris. He had been apprehensive about potential criticism from other Muslims, and the bacon talk had thrown him off.”
“It was so complicated because I’m Muslim and there’s something going on in the world that 100 percent of Muslims care about,” the paper reported. “And then they made it worse by talking about anchovies. Boring!”
Harris has struggled to appeal to Muslims in Michigan, a critical voting bloc that would swing the election to former President Donald J. Trump if they don’t turn out in the crucial battleground state.
She also hasn’t helped herself by leeching onto “Muslim hating warmonger” Liz Cheney who could be appointed as Harris’ defense secretary if she wins while Trump has made it clear that he wants to bring peace to the Middle East.
