Jim Banks has won the Indiana Senate race.

Democrat Valerie McCray faced off against Republican challenger Jim Banks in the race for Indiana’s Senate seat.

According to her website, McCray is “clinical psychologist, working with veterans living with PTSD, incarcerated individuals in the prison system, and children who’ve suffered from gun violence and family trauma.”

She is also the first Black woman to run for one of Indiana’s U.S. Senate seats.

McCray also says that due to her work and life experience, she has “both a toughness of spirit and an optimism that exudes a contagious excitement about the future of Indiana and our Nation.” McCray noted that she is “compassionate, fierce, and resilient–and can relate to the struggles of working class Hoosiers.”

Additionally, she claims that illegal immigrants have paid more taxes to society than they have received in public funds.

“As the first ever African American Woman on the Indiana ballot for U.S. Senate, I will break barriers and build a brighter future for Indiana. Join me in this crucial fight for the future of our Nation. I won’t stop until the work is done—and I will beat our Republican opponent who aims to take away our human rights (especially women’s rights), water down our education systems, and irresponsibly address immigration issues,” she concluded.

Republican Jim Banks has served as the U.S. representative for Indiana’s 3rd district since 2017.

“Since being elected to serve as the representative for Indiana’s 3rd congressional district, Congressman Jim Banks has quickly solidified his position as a conservative champion and fierce opponent of Joe Biden’s radical agenda,” his campaign website states.

Banks opposes Biden’s unlawful student loan forgiveness, forcing taxpayer funds to go into the hands of those who promised to take on the responsibility of paying off their school loans like every other college student of the past, and the extremist Left’s insistence on teaching Critical Race Theory (CRT) in schools while serving on the Education and Workforce Committee.

He is currently the Chairman of the House Armed Services Military Personnel Subcommittee, the Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the newly formed House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party.

As a seasoned conservative and Afghanistan veteran, Jim Banks has battled in Congress and abroad to protect our country’s values and liberties.

As a leader, Banks has worked to improve care for our veterans, strengthen our military, safeguard religious freedom, decrease taxes to boost our economy, and he has protected the unborn.

The Republican is an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump. The 45th president endorsed Banks early into his Senate bid. He has also been endorsed by GOP leaders like Katie Britt, Ted Cruz, Elise Stefanik, and Mike Pompeo.

Banks was a speaker at the 2024 Republican National Convention. He used his prime stage time to boost the former president, urging Americans to make the right call and vote for another Trump presidency.

“We need President Trump back in the White House if we’re going to make America great once again,” Banks said in his 4-minute speech.

Banks won with 62.4% of the vote compared to McCray’s ’s 35.5%. 14% of the votes were counted when the race was called.
