Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat who has been in Congress since the early 1990s, made another unsubstantiated claim about former President Donald Trump just days before the remainder of voters who have yet to cast ballots head to the polls on Tuesday.

In an appearance on far-left MSNBC, Pelosi attempted to make the case that Trump’s mind is deteriorating on the same level that President Joe Biden’s mental capacities have obviously declined. She also claimed that a vote for Trump is really a vote for “horrible” Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), Trump’s running mate.

Ironically, during her interview with Biden’s first press secretary-turned-MSNBC host Jen Psaki, Pelosi herself struggled to answer.

“I think what the ex-president just said is further indication of his cognitive degeneration. You saw recently how he was talking about whether he chose electrocution or being eaten by sharks. Something is very wrong there and indicative also is diminishing the power of the press, which is the guardian of our freedom in our country,” Pelosi claimed, though ‘the media’ is at its lowest approval rating among the public in modern history, according to recent polling.

“So I think people might think about voting for him and have to know that he can’t last as president for four years with his brain deteriorating at the rate it is and it is clearly evident and they may be voting for J. D. Vance, which would be a horrible thing for our country,” Pelosi continued.

According to a CBS News/YouGov poll released in July, a staggering 72 percent of Americans believe that Biden does not have the “mental and cognitive health to serve as president.” The results marked a 7-point increase from just three weeks earlier.

In comparison, voters are evenly divided on whether former President Donald Trump has the mental and cognitive capacity for the job, with 50 percent saying he does and 49 percent saying he does not.

According to the survey, an overwhelming number of Americans, including almost half of his own party, believe that the president should not run for reelection.

At the time, Biden had just come off a disastrous debate with Trump, and calls were rising among Democrats for him to drop out, which he eventually did, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Biden’s family, including First Lady Jill Biden, son Hunter Biden, and their grandchildren, convened at Camp David for a previously scheduled get-together and implored the president to keep fighting in his bid for reelection, Biden advisers told CNN. One adviser described the family members as offering their ‘unequivocal support,’” CNN reported at the time.

“The family – clearly frustrated with the team that prepared President Biden ahead of his alarming debate with former President Donald Trump – discussed whether any of Biden’s top advisers should be fired and whether campaign staffing changes should be made, one adviser said,” the outlet added.
