Voter fraud proved no laughing matter in one blue state after a man allegedly gamed the system to benefit former President Donald Trump.

Charles Pierce, a property manager in Redding, California, was reportedly out of a job after Reddit users referred one of his posts to the authorities. Now, after the state had outlawed the use of voter ID at polling stations, his post to “Vote early — vote often,” found him facing potential felony charges.

“A review of that social media posting provided sufficient detail for my staff to take the claim seriously,” Shasta County Registrar Tom Toller had told SFGate.

KRCR had reported that the since-deleted Reddit Account ManCow2000 had posted in part after the now-former property manager had received ballots mailed to tenants who had moved, “I voted all four of them. NO on rent control. NO on school bonds. and … Trump baby.”

“I follow the Chicago rule for voting: Vote early — vote often,” he added explaining that he had also voted on behalf of his wife, which, in addition to his own vote, amounted to six votes for the GOP leader.

“Election fraud of this type, voting more than one ballot, is particularly insidious because it dilutes the vote of every other registered voter in our county who votes one ballot according to the law,” said Toller. “We referred this matter to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for investigation of a possible criminal violation of California Election Code section 18500.”

Speaking with SFGate, Shasta County District Attorney Stephanie Bridgett said, “Every election, my office receives, from the Registrar of Voters, allegations of voter fraud. We look into each, often resulting in educating those involved in the election process on the resources available to them to ensure compliance with the law.”

“We also, in appropriate cases, file criminal charges for violation of the elections code. The registrar of voters has referred the allegations against Charles Pierce to my office,” she added.

In his own defense, Pierce, who told Action News Now that he had lost his job over the post, contended that he “did not engage in any illegal activities ” and that he had made up the claim.

Arguing the response had been “blown out of proportion,” he also said the situation was “so bogus.”

Previously, it had been reported that Maye Musk, the entrepreneur and fashion model mother to Elon Musk, had taken heat from the left after she had called out California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) law banning voter ID suggesting a similar scheme was readily available to bad actors.

She’s posted to X, “The Democrats have given us another option. You don’t have to register to vote. On Election Day, have 10 fake names, go to 10 polling booths and vote 10 times. That’s 100 votes, and it’s not illegal. Maybe we should work the system too.”

In response to backlash any calls for “any credible evidence Democrats are engaging in that practice?” Musk had said, “Yes. Gavin Newsom just passed a law making it illegal to show voter ID at the polling stations. So, I guess you don’t understand sarcasm.”

Meanwhile, Toller noted to SFGate what the consequences would be for Pierce should the allegations prove less than “bogus.”

“If the investigation substantiates that election fraud did occur, a further referral will be made to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, since voting more than once is also a violation of 42 U.S.C. 1973i(3),” explained the registrar. “The latter is punishable by up to five years in federal prison, underlining just how serious the allegation of election fraud is.”
