Musk has become more vocal about her political leanings and in her recent sitdown with The Bottom Line on Fox Business, she explained why she became a Democrat, and more importantly why she left.

“Elon Musk, I think, first voted Republican a couple years ago. Did you pull him to become more conservative or did you follow Elon or did you work in lockstep? What was the driving force for you in particular,” Dagen McDowell asked.

“When I became a U.S. citizen, of course, I was Democratic because they give you that option and because they’re the good kind people who care about America,” Musk responded, saying that her media intake largely consisted of left-leaning news organizations like MSNBC and CNN, who routinely depict Republicans as awful people. “But then, they’d also say Elon is terrible, and I was thinking, why are they lying about Elon but they tell the truth about the rest?”

“They really just cut into my mind that they just didn’t know what they were doing. Then when I resigned from the Democrats, I just felt such a relief that I’m not part of the party that’s now malicious and dishonest. And my biggest fear is the fraud they are committing at the voting booths,” the model continued.

“One of greatest gifts that Elon has given the country, the world is the purchase of X,” co-host Sean Duffy said. “It truly is a platform where people have the ability to speak, and I think I’ve heard him say, if it is not unlawful, it can live in our platform, and I do think it is better when people can express their viewpoints and argue and debate and disagree. They don’t pick up clubs or guns or rocks, they don’t fight, they do it in the town square and that was fading was that fading, he is brought it back. Has that had any part of your shift over to the Republican Party?”

“For sure, because I’m having the most fun. I’m angry sometimes, but I will let them know, you know. And it is hard to get to sleep at night, I have so much that I want to share, and to repost. And to agree with, then not agree with” Musk revealed.
