…from the Washington Post, that is. First he walked out on the Washington Post Live’s First Look podcast with the absurd Jonathan Capehart and Ruth Marcus this morning (video below). Then, according to the follow-up New York Post story, Hugh quit his gig as a Post columnist.
Hugh was Power Line’s first media friend, from the summer and fall of 2002 in our early online days. He is something of a Renaissance man, superior in every respect to his colleagues in the mainstream media. It understates matters considerably to say that he is an old-fashioned gentleman and scholar.
Today he reached his boiling point. Let’s just say that the Bezos project of reining in the Capeharts of the Post and imposing a trustworthy order on them is off to a slow start. Assuming they are capable of embarrassment, Capehart and Marcus must have been at least a wee bit shamed by Hugh’s refutation of their “Trump is trash” line this morning. Speaking of garbage…
So proud to call @hughhewitt a friend and mentor. He’s one of the classiest and fair radio hosts in the game. He has encouraged and supported me and countless others in this biz.
