The rot of our society is flooding into the church, and many believers are okay with it.

New Barna research says a majority of practicing Christians are consumers of pornography. 54% admitted in the survey to regularly viewing pornography, trailing behind 68% of the regular population.

A majority of practicing Christians, including pastors, admit to viewing pornography and a large share say they are comfortable with the habit, a new study has found …

In general, 75% of Christian men and 40% of Christian women reported consuming porn on some level.

‘Despite the Church’s stance against lust generally, it seems little progress has been made to deter many of those who fill the pews from pornography consumption specifically,’ researchers said. ‘The gap between professed beliefs and actual behavior raises questions about the efficacy of current approaches within faith communities.’

Understand what the Bible says about sexual depravity and sin:

1 Peter 1:15-16: ‘As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.'”

Job 31:1-4: ‘I have made a covenant with my eyes. How then could I look at a young woman? For what portion would I have from God above, or what inheritance from the Almighty on high? Doesn’t disaster come to the unjust and misfortune to evildoers? Does he not see my ways and number all my steps?’

Jesus in Matthew 5:14-16: ‘You have heard that it was said, “Do not commit adultery.” But I tell you, everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.’

Even more damning is the fact that many people who claim to follow Christ say they are COMFORTABLE WITH THEIR SEXUAL SIN.

What may be more troubling is that well over half of Christians who use porn say they are comfortable with their porn use.

Add to this the fact that nearly a majority (48%) of self-professed believers think porn can be a positive thing.

Some 62% of individuals surveyed in the study, in general, expressed comfort with their level of porn consumption. Another 16% said they had some reservations about it, but said they found moderate levels of use acceptable. This group still wished they did not use pornography as frequently.

Understand that the fall of nations so often begins with the worship of sex over God (“You burn with lust among the oaks and under every spreading tree; you sacrifice your children in the ravines and under the overhanging crags.” – Isaiah 57:5).

The reality for those who struggle in the Church is that they, too, often feel like they are alone. When asked, ‘Who is helping you with your struggle with pornography,’ a staggering 82 percent of Christians say ‘no one.’ Isolation is the enemy’s playground,’ Stumbo said …

Christian: You can’t fight this alone. Pastors: Make fighting sexual sin a priority battle of your church. Now.
