It is with a heavy heart that I bring you this sad news:
Yes, our favorite fat cat, Crumbs, has died just weeks after being sent to fat camp.
We told you about Crumbs back in September. He had been rescued from a Russian hospital where the people were feeding him a fairly unhealthy diet. He then got stuck in a shoe rack trying to escape fat camp.
Crumbs was eating nothing but soup and cookies in his former residence at a Russian hospital, which caused him to gain an unthinkable amount of weight. When all was said and done, he weighed a whopping 38 pounds …
After he was rescued he was immediately taken to fat camp where his diet has been improved and he even works out on a submerged treadmill.
Here Crumbs was at fat camp:
But now, crumbs is no more.
The world’s fattest cat, Crumbs, has died weeks after being sent to a feline fat camp …
Vets at the diet center believe the fat cat’s layers of flab were so deep that scans ultimately failed to show he had cancerous tumors developed on his spleen and other internal organs.
Galiana More, who owns the Matroskin cat shelter which treated Crumbs, said they believed the tumors triggered multiple organs to collapse.
A sad day for cat lovers everywhere.
