In what smacks of one last desperate play for relevancy, 81-year-old Geraldo Rivera endorsed Kamala Harris, the most radical left major Democratic candidate to ever run for the White House.

So it’s only natural that Rivera, who backed former Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly’s far-fetched claim that the former president said Hitler did some good things, would lead the parade in pushing the faux outrage over the nothing burger Democrats are trying to pitch as a late October surprise, which is a relatively obscure comedian making an off-color joke about Puerto Rico — the campaign being a clever attempt to distract from the remarkable rally Trump held in the opposition’s own back yard at Madison Square Garden.

Throwing F-bombs as easily as mofongos, Rivera ratcheted up his anger to besmirch Trump on behalf of the Democratic nominee — never mind that Puerto Rico has a history of dealing with an alleged “trash crisis” due to many of the island’s landfills being filled beyond capacity.

“‘A floating island of garbage…?’ Referring to Puerto Rico??? ‘Poisoning the blood of our nation…?’ We have ‘murder in our genes….?’ F*ck these racists. Latino men of good will, have pride in yourselves and your ancestors. A vote for Trump is a vote against self-respect,” Rivera posted on X.

But Geraldo was just getting warmed up, as he got very personal — and racist — in a response to his own tweet:

“Latino men, for the love of your parents and children, for your pride and your honor tell this little gringo sh*t to go f*ck himself,” the former Fox News contributor posted.

Not surprising, given his reputation, but Rivera has been silent thus far about President Joe Biden calling some 74 million Trump supporters “garbage.”

“The only garbage I see floating out there is [Trump] supporters,” the 81-year-old president said Tuesday night on a Zoom call with VotoLatina.

Rivera sided with other liberals who called for Trump to apologize for a comedian’s joke that bombed, thus assuming ownership as Democrats desperately seek.

Meanwhile, the Puerto Rican mayor of Keller, Texas, Mayor Armin Mizani, responded to the trumped-up “controversy” to say “millions of Latinos” will still vote for Trump and JD Vance, who are “surging in the polls amongst Latinos.”

“For Latinos, faith, family, and economic opportunity motivates us – not some bad joke by a comedian,” Mizani posted on X. “America has had a first hand account of the two choices before us. Under the Biden and Harris administration, Americans have seen record inflation, an open southern border, increased crime, the weakening of the family structure, and the taking away of God from our daily lives.”

“In contrast, under President Trump, Americans saw secured borders, economic prosperity, a respect for people of faith, and a respect for American values. This is why I, along with millions of Latinos, will help re-elect President Trump back into the White House,” he continued.

As for Geraldo, social media users have never been able to resist ridiculing him when the opportunity arises… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
