CNN Senior Political Analyst Mark Preston responded to President Joe Biden‘s remarks calling tens of millions of Americans “garbage” by urging him to “embrace” what he said.
Biden handed Donald Trump an election victory with one word during a virtual campaign event, responding to a joke stand-up comedian Tony Hinchcliffe told during Trump’s Sunday rally at Madison Square Garden.
However, Preston thinks that doubling down on the declaring half of America “garbage” would make Democrats look “strong.”
Are we living in the twilight zone?
“I’m of the mindset that if you say it, you might as well just embrace it, and I do think that that’s a problem for Democrats,” Preston said.
“It’s shocking, you know, that I would say that. No, but realistically, like I do think if he said, listen, yeah, I do mean all those racist supporters of Donald Trump, yeah, I do think that they’re terrible,” he added.
“I think that people would look at the Democratic Party a little bit differently,” Preston continued.
“I do think that the Democratic Party in general doesn’t look like they are strong enough and they will always back off of things.”
“And I think that when Joe Biden backs off of saying what he really believes, I don’t think that’s a good look.”
