Former President Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris by one percent in the critical swing state of Pennsylvania, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday.

The survey, released days before the 2024 presidential election, found that 47% of respondents favored Trump while 46% favored Harris. Another two percent responded that they were voting for Green Party candidate Jill Stein, and one percent will vote for Libertarian Chase Oliver.

The poll also found that independent voters were split evenly between Trump and Harris, at 43% each, while more Democrats (94%) were voting for Harris than Republicans (90%) were voting for Trump. Seven percent of independent voters are supporting Stein, and three percent are supporting Oliver.

Nearly 70% of voters also said they plan to vote in person on Nov. 5, while just over 30% said they plan to vote early by mail or absentee ballots. 

“While a majority of the approximately seven million Pennsylvanians voting will do so at a polling place, possibly two million citizens will have cast their ballot early by mail,” Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy said. “History tells us that the candidate who looks like a clear winner on Election night based on Election Day voting could well be a loser once the hand count of the early vote is finally completed.”

The survey polled 2,186 likely Pennsylvania voters from Oct. 24-28, and had a 2.1% margin of error.
