Americans United for Life presents award at its inaugural Equal Protection Summit at the University of Notre Dame.

Mark Miller, board member at Americans United for Life, presented the inaugural Victor G. Rosenblum Pro-Life Champion Award to Rich Lowry, editor-in-chief of National Review, at AUL’s inaugural Equal Protection Summit at the University on Notre Dame on Friday, October 18.

Ed Grant, former president of Americans United for Life, remembered Rosenblum at the time of his death as “a giant in many fields – political science, administrative and constitutional law, and legal education – but a prophet in one: defending the human rights of the unborn, the handicapped infant, and the infirm aged at risk of medical neglect – and worse.”

Miller said, “because for 68 years National Review, under its founder William F. Buckley Jr., and now under its successor Rich Lowry, has ‘set its face like flint’ against the march of human autonomy and the erosion of the value of human life, Americans United for Life is proud to present the inaugural Victor G. Rosenblum Pro-Life Champion Award to Rich Lowry and National Review.”

John Mize, CEO of Americans United for Life, said, “National Review, under Rich Lowry’s leadership, has held a strong editorial standard for the pro-life movement. We couldn’t think of a better recipient of this inaugural award.”

The award was accepted at the Equal Protection Summit, an inaugural gathering of lawyers, scholars, and policy professionals in the pro-life movement. The summit hosted leaders of over fifteen national pro-life organizations, and welcomed scholars including Clarke Forsythe, Josh Craddock, David Bereit, Gerard V. Bradley, Teresa Collett, Emma Waters, and others.
