Harrowing bodycam footage released by Florida police showed the heartstopping moment officers rescued a woman who was almost raped by an illegal migrant.

Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood recounted how a 911 dispatcher was able to understand that the victim’s call for pizza was actually a call for help that saved her.

“This weekend, our 911 center got a call from a woman ordering a pizza close to 4 a.m.,” Chitwood related. “What the dispatcher quickly figured out was that the caller was really in danger.”

The caller told the dispatcher that she was “stuck in here” and that “he won’t take me back home,” presumably referring to the suspect.

In detailing her “pizza” order, she was able to communicate to the 911 dispatcher that there was only one person and he was unarmed. Deputies used the coordinates in trying to locate the caller who was being held in a field and responded in the affirmative when asked if she was hurt.

“Thanks to coordination between the Volusia Sheriff’s Office 911 Communications Center and patrol deputies, we were able to track down this victim in a field in Pierson,” Chitwood related. “The suspect was on top of her and she was screaming for help when deputies arrived.”

Deputies arrested 27-year-old Luis Diego Hernandez-Moncayo who is reportedly in the country illegally. The sheriff noted that the suspect had applied for asylum in the U.S. just one day before the attempted rape.

“He’s now sitting in jail, charged with attempted sexual battery, battery by strangulation, and false imprisonment, with an immigration detainer from the U.S. Border Patrol,” Chitwood noted.

The sheriff praised the victim’s smart thinking and the rest of those involved in getting to her quickly.

“I am so proud, number one, of our victim for having the wherewithal and keep her wits as they worked to get that information to our communications folks, our communications folks for being able to decipher what was going on and use technology to put us, the deputies, in the general area of where she was,” Chitwood said in the video accompanying the footage.

“And then obviously you can see the deputies’ response and taking this scumbag into custody,” he concluded.
