Necessity is the mother of invention and nobody knows that better than the residents of northeast Tennessee.

Following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, many were left stranded while awaiting intervention from the government. Locals and volunteers eventually got tired of waiting and crafted a makeshift bridge with what they had handy.

Singer Oliver Anthony posted his own update on what it looks like on the ground in these hurricane-ravaged areas where it feels like residents have all but been forgotten by the people who are supposed to help them.

“We saw one- I promise you, I saw FEMA person there. There was one dude from FEMA,” Anthony revealed.

“He had nothing nice to say about FEMA. He was disappointed in the response, most of the applications he was filing were getting rejected. He was pissed and he was a FEMA contractor, so what does that tell you?” the singer continued.

Another X user uploaded a video of his own, sarcastically musing whether $750 will cover the cost of repairing the damage to the road to his home:
