Former President Donald Trump said in Tempe, Arizona on Thursday that the U.S. is “like a garbage can for the world” under the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies.

“They unleashed an army of migrant gangs waging a campaign of violence,” Trump said. “We’re a dumping ground. We’re like a garbage can for the world.”

Trump often references cases of illegal immigrants who were released from the border into the U.S. under the Biden administration and went on to commit crimes.

Vice President Kamala Harris, the 2024 Democratic nominee, was pressed during a CNN town hall on Wednesday night about the record number of illegal immigrant border encounters that have occurred under the Biden administration. She struggled to defend the administration’s decision to rollback most of Trump’s border actions through executive order upon taking office in 2021.
