National poll finds 59% of voters support a federal ban on gender transition (mutilation) procedures for children

A recent national poll revealed that 59 percent of registered voters would support a federal ban on surgical and chemical transition care for minors.

The poll was commissioned by The Center Square and conducted by market research firm Noble Predictive Insights. It found that, if the federal government passed such a ban, it would have the support of 36 percent of Democrats, 56 percent of independents and 82 percent of Republicans.

The majority of both sexes also would also support a federal ban on transgender procedures for minors, with 63 percent of men and 56 percent of women backing it.

In terms of races, 63 percent of “others” support the ban compared to 61 percent of White and 46 percent of Black registered voters.

Among age demographics, the groups most in favor of a federal ban were the 45 to 54 and 54 to 65 age groups, both of which said 61 percent of them would support it. The 18 to 34 age group were the least in favor, with 52 percent supporting a ban on such procedures for minors.

Although voters with and without college degrees both backed a federal ban by more than 50 percent, those without degrees supported it more at 61 percent, while 55 percent of voters with a college degree favored a ban.

Voters with children favored a ban more than those without, at 61 percent to 52 percent respectively.

Geographically, rural voters preferred a ban more than suburban and urban voters, at 64 percent compared to 57 percent and 58 percent respectively.

Regionally, the Northeast was least in favor of a federal ban, with 51 percent supporting it. The South was the most supportive at 61 percent, while the Midwest supported it at 60 percent. Voters in the West preferred a ban at 59 percent.

Republican policies on transgenderism align with public opinion

“On many issues surrounding trans rights and students or youth, the GOP has public opinion on their side,” Noble Predictive Insights’ David Byler stated. (Related: Trump plans to criminalize GENDER TRANSITION surgery on minors without parental consent if elected.)

“There’s a reason that, when you look at GOP ads, they are constantly hammering this and other related issues. And some prominent Democrats are pushing out moderate, rather than left, messages.”

Byler added: “Republicans know that trans issues are a strong social issue for them – and after getting hit hard on abortion so many times since Dobbs, they want to make sure they’re pushing back and finding social issues that work for them.”

Meanwhile, research has revealed that “affirming” gender confusion brings serious injury, particularly when done with susceptible children who lack the mental development, emotional maturity and life experience.

It also took note of the long-term consequences of the decisions being pushed on minors, as well as the impacts of life-changing, physically transformative and frequently irreversible surgical and chemical procedures.

Studies also found that more than 80 percent of children with gender dysphoria outgrow it on their own by late adolescence.

It added that even complete “reassignment” surgery usually fails to solve the tendency of gender-confused individuals to engage in self-harm and suicide. It may actually increase their confusion and disregard the real root causes of their mental struggles.
