The ladies of The View discussed a report that claims former President Donald Trump praised Hitler, predictably losing their minds.

The topic of discussion was the released audio recordings of General John Kelly, Trump’s former chief of staff, who claimed the former president would make positive remarks about Hitler including saying he “did some good things.”

It started with Alyssa Farah Griffin, Trump’s former director of strategic communications, who can’t believe people would not believe General Kelly because he’s “a four-star general” who was “so highly regarded by everyone in Trump’s West Wing.”

“I mean, I just can’t believe that for four years people have been warning about this. This is – General John Kelly, is somebody who was so highly regarded by everyone in Trump’s West Wing, he was seen even by the most loyal Trump advisers, as a steadying force. And the fact that today Trump’s defenders are instead choosing to impugn a four-star general to defend a politician I think shows that there’s a cravenness and an unwillingness to ever stand up for what’s right,” she accused.

“But we’ve never actually been in this moment in history before where so many former senior military officials who directly served under Donald Trump and senior officials like myself are warning about his character, his infidelity to the Constitution, how he views our military. And I want to shake people and be like, why are you not believing us? How many more four-star generals need to tell you the truth about who this man is? He is so deeply dangerous,” Griffin said to applause from the audience. “I’m hoping it breaks through, but I’m never going to lose hope. I’m not going to. But how many more people do you need to hear from? This is a man who lost — he’s a Gold Star father — he lost his son in combat after himself serving in combat for decades.”

Sara Haines was next up to bash Trump.

“We try to wonder why Trump admires dictators and we often prognosticate that it’s a strength. He wants someone that has all the power in charge. Right now he’s pandering that same idea to men. Right now he’s hunting the male vote, and he’s up on that vote right now,” Haines theorized, making sure to malign males in the process. “But there’s something so crazy about that because the most — the strongest among us are our military, not just our military. As you said, the four-star generals. These are career military that literally if you watched ‘A Few Good Men’ they say, unit, corps., God. God is third, guys. God, family. These are people that have trained in that obedient way. They’re not political. And he not only — they’ve come out and spoken about it. He fired many of them. And when those are the people in the room telling you something is so wrong, Trump is the sign of weakness. He cannot laugh at himself. Anybody that critiques him, he has nothing to say. He never served. He’s never done manual labor. I actually never fact-checked that but that is a man that speaks about people in a way that has absolutely never lifted things with his own hands.”

She went on to lecture the “young men” backing Trump on issues like the economy that all of their woes are caused by “corporate greed,” a fairy tale that’s been debunked even by President Joe Biden’s very own Federal Reserve.

Behar then jumped in with her bag of insulting rhetoric.

“The Democrats also have the superior economy. Every time the Democrats come in, they have to fix the bad economy the Republicans left. For some reason, people don’t get that. Am I right or wrong?” she asked.

“I don’t even know what to say anymore. If people still follow this fascist pig, then I don’t know what else to say. I really don’t. It’s like, how many times do we have to hear him say that, referring to immigrants as ‘animals,’ and Hitler called cleansing Germany of all those parasites, referring to immigrants, and he called Jews ‘lice.’ And this guy Trump calls people ‘vermin.’ It’s the same language that Hitler used, okay?” she continued hysterically.

“How many times do we have to hear him say that John McCain was not a hero because he was captured, or that people who serve in the United States military — my father, my uncles, World War II – how many of us have relatives who served in World War Two to preserve democracy in this country? I don’t want to hear from these people anymore because they just, either they’re ignorant or willfully ignorant at this point. It’s absolutely crossed the line for me now.”
