David Axelrod, who was a top adviser to former President Barack Obama, said one of Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris’ political weak spots was on display during her town hall on CNN Wednesday night.

“When she doesn’t want to answer a question, her habit is to kind of go to word salad city,” Axelrod said on CNN, on which he is a paid contributor.

“She would acknowledge no concerns about any of the administration’s policies and that’s a mistake,” Axelrod, the chief strategist for Obama’s winning 2008 presidential campaign.

Axelrod, who also worked in the Obama White House, said politicians should “want relate to the people” in front of them but Harris “didn’t do a lot of that” during the course of the town hall.

“She didn’t ask them questions. She didn’t address them particularly,” he said.
