Democratic candidates for president have traditionally embraced Christian voters and rhetoric throughout the campaign trail, with some openly discussing their own faith.

Times have changed, however, and Democratic attitudes towards Christians, who remain a potent voting bloc, have soured. Vice President Kamala Harris, this cycle, has faced scrutiny over a number of viral clips, including a moment in which she told protesters who shouted “Jesus is Lord!” that they were at the “wrong rally.”
