The latest iteration of the “Trump is the second coming of Hitler” hoax is the desperate and hysterical distortion of his remarks about the dangerous menace of left-wing insurrectionists who will wreak havoc if he wins the election.

The former president used similar rhetoric that the media and Democrats have spewed about him and his supporters for years when he suggested that the military and National Guard could be deployed to put down post-election violence and that some high-ranking malefactors are the “enemy within” but despite the outcry, he’s not backing down.

On Sunday, the GOP nominee appeared on Fox News where he was pressed by “MediaBuzz” host Howard Kurtz on his remarks, singling out Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) by name.

“Are you prepared to say now that you will not use law enforcement to punish or prosecute your political opponents?” Kurtz asked Trump on whether he would pursue what he called “retribution” against those who have persecuted him.

“Excuse me, that’s what they’re using on me,” Trump responded. “That’s what they’re using on me,” as he reminded the host of the myriad of unjust lawfare prosecutions that have been – and are still being – waged against him by the Harris-Biden Justice Department and Democrats.

“They have weaponized government against me,” Trump said, prompting Kurtz to ask whether he would return the favor.

“No, I don’t want to do that, because that’s a bad thing for the country,” the former president stated. “I don’t want to do that. I don’t know who said — I haven’t said that I would, but they have done it,” again referring to the lawfare in places like Fulton County, Georgia.

“It’s all coming out of the Justice Department, they have done something never been done in this country before,” he added. “Now, it’s been done in a lot of other countries, third world countries, banana republics… so when you ask that question, you really have to start by saying well, they’ve done it to you. No, I’m not looking to do it to them at all. They have set a very bad precedent, however.”

Later, Kurtz pressed him on the “enemy within” remarks which he said was a “pretty ominous phrase if you’re talking about other Americans.”

“I think it’s accurate,” Trump replied before singling out Schiff and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi by name and reminding the host that Joe Biden and Barack Obama “spied” on his campaign.

“What they’ve done is so terrible, who’s ever heard of anything like this? Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, he’s a crooked guy. He’s a crooked politician. 100 percent, he’s going to be a senator now can you believe it?” Trump said, referring to Pelosi’s ultra-slimy top lieutenant.

“Of course, he’s an enemy, he’s an enemy,” Trump continued. “He wanted to put my son in jail, and my son didn’t even know what he was talking about. He wanted to put my son in jail on a scam that he made up called Russia, Russia, Russia. He, Hillary Clinton, and a group of people made up a scam and they came out of a room and they said Donald Trump Jr. will be going to jail over this.”

“You’re going to put somebody in jail on a scam that was made up by you,” he told Kurtz. “That’s an enemy from within”

Trump also called Schiff a “threat to democracy” before also naming Pelosi who he said bore responsibility for the so-called “insurrection” at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

“These are bad people,” he emphasized. “We have a lot of bad people, but when you look at Shifty Schiff and some of the others, yeah, they are, to me, the enemy from within. I think Nancy Pelosi is an enemy from within. She lied, she was supposed to protect the Capitol…”

Current Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) clarified Trump’s remarks to Jake Tapper – who was obsessed with golf legend Arnold Palmer’s penis – on Sunday’s edition of “State of the Union” on CNN.

“He’s talking about using the National Guard and the military to keep the peace in our streets,” he said concerning the use of the military to keep order in the event of an insurrection from the Democratic Party’s shock troops, like what happened during the George Floyd “Summer of Love” in 2020.

“Trump is talking about restoring law and order,” Johnson said. “That resonates with the American people.”
