Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has reportedly been diagnosed with a rare form of bone marrow cancer while in prison.

NBC News on Tuesday reported the condition, based on information from two sources.  

The 72-year-old Weinstein is reportedly being treated for the condition –chronic myeloid leukemia – a Rikers Island prison in New York, where he is serving a 23-year sentence on charges related to rape and sexual assault. 

Weinstein has myriad health problems. Last month, he underwent emergency surgery to alleviate fluid in his lungs and heart, an he was hospitalized in July for a COVID-19 infection and double pneumonia.

“Out of respect for Mr. Weinstein’s privacy, we will offer no further comment,” a Weinstein representative told NBC on Monday night.
