Sheriff T.K. Waters of Jacksonville, Florida threw his support behind former President Trump and was immediately targeted by someone flying a plane with a racist banner trailing in its wake.

The banner stated, “REPUGNANT-CON COWARD TK WATERS TURNED WHITE.” The black sheriff didn’t miss a beat and shrugged it off as the person’s First Amendment right to voice their opinion.

Waters told Florida’s Voice that his agency would not be investigating the matter because it wasn’t “a crime.”

“It’s every person’s right to express themselves […] We’re continuing to move forward as an agency,” the sheriff remarked.

“Today’s banner is a clear reminder that ignorance and hate will always breed more ignorance and hate. Jacksonville is a great city full of good people who care about one another. Let’s focus on putting that on the world’s stage,” Waters, Jacksonville’s second black sheriff, commented.

The banner was flown just one day after Waters voiced his support for Trump while excoriating Democratic Mayor Donna Deegan for calling the former president’s immigration policy akin to “concentration camps.” She made the abhorrent comments while traveling on a trade mission in London during an interview with London Times Radio, according to Florida’s Voice.

“As the Sheriff of Jacksonville, it is disappointing to see our Mayor equate a commonsense immigration policy with one of the most horrific atrocities of the 20th century,” Waters bluntly told the media outlet.

“Here are the facts: Kamala Harris, who Deegan supports, has allowed a wide-open border and millions of illegal crossings,” he added. “Along with a surge of violent criminals, fentanyl has poured into our country and poisoned our communities.”

The sheriff didn’t mince words and hammered Democrats over illegal immigration and fentanyl.

“This year alone, our officers have seized nearly 15 kilograms of fentanyl, enough to kill over 7 Million Americans and since Harris took office, JSO officers have responded to 970 fentanyl-related deaths,” Waters pointed out. “Something must be done. Only President Donald J. Trump can secure our border and restore safety, security, and economic prosperity to the American people.”

“The people of Jacksonville expect more from our Mayor than knee-jerk responses about President Trump’s policies. It is downright shameful,” he asserted.

Other Florida leaders blasted Deagan as well including “Florida Republican state Reps. Dean Black, Jessica Baker, Wyman Duggan, Kiyan Michael, and Republican state Sen. Clay Yarborough, Rep. Randy Fine, R-Palm Bay, Florida Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson, and Jacksonville City Councilman Terrance Freeman,” according to Florida’s Voice.
