RedState readers will recall that a few days before Hurricane Milton slammed into the Florida coast, Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris was despicably politicizing the storm, falsely accusing Gov. Ron DeSantis of “playing politics” and being “selfish” for allegedly refusing to take her call after Hurricane Helene hit the state two weeks prior.

Though DeSantis responded accordingly by pointing out 1) he wasn’t aware the vice president had tried to call him and 2) she had never called him before or after a hurricane until she became a presidential nominee (she also has “no role” such things, DeSantis noted as well), Harris continued being the game player.

For instance, she put in cringe calls to media outlets to talk about the storm the day of and tweeted out a clearly staged video of herself the evening Milton hit talking to the mayor of St. Petersburg to try and make herself look like a concerned and compassionate “leader.”

But like so many other things related to Kamala Harris, as it turns out that video, too, was edited – primarily to take out the bits that came across as extraordinarily self-serving or, to borrow an accusation from Harris herself, selfish:

The Democratic presidential nominee tweeted footage of her speaker phone call with Mayor Ken Welch — leaving 38 seconds of the two-minute call on the cutting room floor — as the storm approached the Gulf Coast.

A more complete version of the tape from Welch’s end of the line, obtained by The Post, reveals that the Harris team edited out the 59-year-old saying, “I am a devout public servant, but I know how bureaucracy and red tape can get in the way of getting stuff done in a timely manner.”

There were other far more minor edits made as well, including one where she was apparently urging Welch to, as the New York Post put it, “put on a brave face.” But the “devout public servant” bit was the most egregious.

Watch:

Imagine her trying to portray herself as a “devout public servant” after she spent two days clinking glasses with rich megadonors as the victim count was rising in North Carolina and other southeastern states after Hurricane Helene hit. The chutzpah here is just off the charts.

Harris had previously come under fire for another obviously staged image of herself that was tweeted out some 48 hours after Helene left behind what some described as “biblical devastation” in western North Carolina as Harris attended those ritzy left coast campaign fundraisers, and while President Joe Biden relaxed on the beach.

Outside of her radical beliefs, everything about this woman and her political career is staged, scripted, and managed right down to the second. In other words, she’s not all that different than Joe Biden, for that matter. Except in Biden’s case, he’s at least had his rare moments where he came across as authentic.

But Harris? The only thing “authentic” about her is that she is genuinely inauthentic, and will say and do just about anything to climb the political ladder to the top. God help this country if she wins next month.
