A dog was rescued after some scumbag left him for dead during a hurricane. Fortunately, the dog is doing better than ever and justice has been served.

The worst crimes a person can commit are against children, the elderly, and animals. So while one may argue the only fair punishment for leaving a dog tied up, soaked in a puddle during a hurricane would probably be to do the same to the suspect, the mob will have to settle for up to five years in prison.

According to ABC 7:

State Attorney Suzy Lopez has charged Giovanny Aldama Garcia with aggravated animal cruelty after he admitted to leaving his dog on I-75 as he evacuated to safety during Hurricane Milton.

The defendant told investigators he was driving to Georgia to escape the hurricane but left his dog “Jumbo” on the side of the road because he couldn’t find anyone to pick the dog up.

“Jumbo’s” name is now “Trooper.” This was intended to emphasize the dog’s bravery at one of his worst moments in life as well as the heroic act of the state trooper.

Leaving Trooper “on the side of the road because he couldn’t find anyone to pick the dog up” makes no sense.

This was an emergency and the guy could not keep the dog with him? What a load of crap.

Trooper Orlando Morales got a tip from a driver about the animal on the side of the road and diligently searched until he saw the dog tied up. Trooper Morales found the dog as water was rising to the animal’s neck and Hurricane Milton was bearing down on Tampa.

Now named Trooper, the dog is safe and will not be returned to the defendant.

It’s great that justice is on its way to being served, as no person who understands the most basic moral laws would do something like this, even five-year-olds would tell you how evil this was. And to say this man deserves worse than he will get is an understatement.
