Elon Musk, who is currently the wealthiest person in the world, donated an additional $75 million to presidential candidate Donald Trump and other Republicans to help support the GOP in the upcoming November elections.

Musk’s donation now makes him one of the biggest donors to Republican party causes this campaign season, according to campaign finance disclosures released this week.

Musk made the donation to America PAC, a super political action committee he launched in May to aid Trump in his bid to return to the White House.

The America PAC is just “aiming for common sense, centrist values,” the SpaceX and Tesla founder said on Tuesday on his social media platform X.

Musk was previously more under the radar in terms of political appearances, showing up at GOP fundraisers in 2022, but he has gradually increased his involvement and recently leaped on stage with former President Trump earlier this month in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The America PAC, which was formed in May, reported having spent a total of $102 million on the presidential race so far, according to FEC filings.

However, unlike most super PACs, America PAC is not spending its money to reserve expensive television air time to run ads. The group’s filings show that it is focusing on funding direct mail, texts, and phone banking. Phone banking is the practice of assembling a group of volunteers, to call voters as part of a political campaign, according to ngpvan.com.

Meanwhile, Musk announced on X that he will begin a multi-day speaking tour through Pennsylvania, which is considered a massive swing state in the November election.

“Tomorrow night through Monday, I will be giving a series of talks throughout Pennsylvania,” Musk wrote on Wednesday.

The petition requires signers to provide personal contact information. Which includes full names, cell phone numbers, email addresses, and mailing addresses.

The donation comes as Musk has been pushing voters to support Trump in his bid to defeat Democrat nominee Kamala Harris.

Musk publicly endorsed Trump on July 13th, minutes after the former president survived the first assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

When the 45th president returned to that site for another rally in October, Musk joined him on stage wearing a black “Make America Great Again” hat, humorously declaring himself as “Dark MAGA.”
