Sen. Bernie Sanders unintentionally threw Vice President Kamala Harris under the bus during a CNN interview Tuesday.

The hilarious faux pas occurred after host Kaitlan Collins asked him about something Harris had said a week earlier.

“Last week … Harris … was asked what she would have done differently than Biden had she been president,” Collins said. “Initially, she said nothing came to mind. Then she said putting a Republican in her Cabinet, something she’s pledged to do. But, from your vantage point, do you think that was enough of a course correction that she offered to voters?”

In response, Sanders shoved Harris straight off the train.

Well, frankly, it’s no great secret, I happen to believe that, on domestic issues, President Biden has probably been the most progressive president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt,” he said. “And I think he’s done a lot of good work in a lot of areas, which I think he is not getting the kind of credit that he deserves [for].”

And Kamala Harris has been at his side throughout that whole process and she deserves the credit. I think it’s no great secret, that the area that I and a lot of folks do have disagreements within the Biden administration is the war in Gaza,” he added.

In other words, Harris “deserves the credit” for America experiencing “the most progressive [agenda] since Franklin Delano Roosevelt.”

An agenda that has coincided with massive economic harm:

Sanders’ remarks come despite critics repeatedly warning that Harris must separate herself from Biden’s disastrous policies and agenda if she’s to win the 2024 presidential race.

Yet the VP has instead steadfastly remained committed to propping up her boss and his agenda, despite it clearly harming her campaign.

Only now, with weeks remaining until the election and her poll numbers in the dumps, is Harris finally considering switching course.

“Vice President Kamala Harris’ team has been discussing ways … she could put more distance between her and Biden,” NBC News reported on Saturday, days before Sanders threw the VP under the bus.

“Polling has consistently found that Biden is a drag on Harris’ candidacy and that voters are eager for a new direction. But Harris has been reluctant to be critical of Biden by outright critiquing his presidency,” the NBC News piece continued.

“Her level of loyalty is incredible,” one source told the outlet.

True.

When she was asked last week on “The View” whether she’d have done anything differently than Biden, she foolishly said, “There is not a thing that comes to mind.”

Biden for his part has been trying to help her along by differentiating himself from her.

“Every president has to cut their own path,” he said during a Democrat Party dinner in Philadelphia this Tuesday, according to CNN. “That’s what I did. I was loyal to Barack Obama, but I cut my own path as president. That’s what Kamala is going to do. She’s been loyal so far, but she’s gonna cut her own path.”

“I’m one of the few people in American history who has been vice president and president. And I know both jobs, what they take and I can tell you, Kamala Harris has been a great vice president. She’ll be a great president as well,” he added.
