Stumping through Minnesota, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance raised a key point about what was razed to the ground under his rival running mate’s watch.

“I think the message is very simple…”

Throughout the relatively short-lived campaign of the Harris-Walz ticket, both the vice president and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz have endeavored to gloss over their concerning records on law and order.

To that end, Vance made a point of speaking with the press outside the scarred remnant of the Minneapolis Police Department’s Third Precinct that stood as a stark reminder of his Democrat counterpart’s “completely failed leadership.”

“This is of course the headquarters of the Third Precinct which was burned down thanks to — burned out, I should say — thanks to Tim Walz’s completely failed leadership,” Vance said as he kicked off remarks to the press Monday.

Speaking of the law enforcement officials who had been on the scene in May 2020 in the days that followed the death of George Floyd in police custody, joining him on location, he continued, “Remember, during those riots, these guys were given up for dead. Their police chief told them to stand down, hoping that it would save their lives.”

“What were their leaders, and in particular, what was Gov. Tim Walz doing to keep these officers safe and to bring order to the City of Minneapolis? The answer was absolutely nothing,” asserted Vance. “They describe being left for dead by the person who wants to be vice president of the United States.”

As previously reported, Walz had only called for the National Guard to be activated after days of BLM protests that included violence, looting, and the burning of businesses as well as police stations.

“While many Minnesotans are taking extensive safety precautions while exercising their right to protest,” the governor said at the time, advancing the corporate media notion of “fiery but peaceful protests,” “the demonstration last night became incredibly unsafe for all involved.”

Reminding that then-California Sen. Kamala Harris had promoted the bail fund for the rioters, Vance said Monday, “I think the message is very simple: Do we want a kind of leader who stands with the law enforcement, who fights for them, who protects their lives as they go about keeping us safe? Or do we want someone who encourages rioters and looters to burn down this precinct, who leaves the officers for dead, and then a president who then bails out some of those same rioters and looters out of prison?”

“I think we want the law and order president,” he concluded on that point.

Piggybacking off a report from the Minnesota Star Tribune that characterized Vance’s remarks as calling Minneapolis a “city in decline,” Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips, who ran against President Joe Biden for the Democratic Party nomination, attempted to slight the vice presidential hopeful.

“Shame on you @JDVance for coming to our community and calling us a city in decline. George Floyd’s murder and COVID’s destruction occurred under your emperor’s reign, and you’ve done NOTHING to help. Take your fear-mongering show back to lovely Cleveland,” he wrote.

In response, Vance made clear, “I never used the phrase ‘city in decline.’ It was editorializing from a journalist. What I did say: Minneapolis has suffered greatly. And not because of ‘George Floyd’s murder,’ but because politicians like you allowed rioters to loot and burn, causing $500 million in damage.”

“If you want to let people burn down cities, harass police officers, and allow violent crimes to nearly double,” the senator added, “vote for Dean’s buddy Kamala Harris. If you want to support our law enforcement and the people who depend on them for safety, vote for Donald J. Trump.”

During the remarks to the press, the Ohio lawmaker drew the contrast between present-day Minneapolis and when Walz had been elected governor by saying, “People talked about moving out of Minneapolis. People talked about the 1,400 businesses that were destroyed, a lot of them who are owned by minority members of this community. People talked about how Minneapolis had one of the great quality of lives five, six years ago, but thanks to the leadership of Tim Walz has now become overrun with crime.”

“The story of Minneapolis is coming to every community across the United States of America if we promote Kamala Harris to president of the United States,” warned Vance who earned high praise for taking the fight directly to the left.
