House Speaker Mike Johnson is holding the media’s feet to the fire, accusing CBS News of editing out critical information he shared in a recent interview.

The Louisiana Republican brought the receipts on social media as he exposed the network for its “selectively edited” clip from his appearance on “Face the Nation.”

“CBS has been under fire for selectively editing their interviews to PROMOTE Democrats and UNDERMINE Republicans,” he wrote in a post on X. “Yesterday, they chose to cut FIVE important minutes out of my nearly 15 minute interview.”

His post included a video clip of the “Fox & Friends” co-hosts discussing the edits and he followed with more posts sharing the “receipts” of the narrative-manipulating revisions.

“I recently traveled to NC and victims of Hurricane Helene told me nearly two weeks after landfall, the Biden-Harris Administration had STILL not provided them with all the resources they desperately needed,” Johnson wrote.

“But CBS selectively edited OUT ENTIRELY this first-hand perspective,” the speaker added, along with side-by-side clips of his full response to host Margaret Brennan’s question and what CBS ultimately aired.

Johnson’s full remarks included urging media to go to hurricane-ravaged areas to speak with people directly affected rather than taking the word of politicians or the Biden-Harris administration. Though the video was cut out, the transcript from the show reveals his complete remarks.

“They have not been provided the resources almost two weeks after the storm that they desperately needed. And when I was there…people are still being rescued, they’re stuck in the higher elevations in the mountains,” Johnson said. “They need every available resource and all hands on deck. The rescue and recovery efforts still going on, and then we address the rest of it.”

In another example of “selective” editing, Johnson shared the discussion on how the Biden-Harris administration’s Justice Department is suing Virginia over Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s attempt to clear the voter rolls of ineligible names.

“Apparently, CBS also doesn’t want you to hear about Virginia Gov. Youngkin, who is trying to clean the state’s voter rolls so non-American citizens can’t vote there,” he wrote. “We need more states doing this, but the Biden-Harris Administration is SUING VIRGINIA and trying to STOP it.”

Johnson wasn’t done.

In another post on X showing the side-by-side comparisons, he showed the exchange with Brennan on illegal immigrants in the country who should not be allowed to vote.

“So, the House passed the SAVE Act to ensure only American citizens vote in American elections,” he wrote. “CBS edited that out and focused on 2020 instead of immediate threats to election integrity.”

Johnson reportedly told Fox News’s Brian Kilmeade he will “never again agree to a non-live interview with CBS.”
