Vice President Kamala Harris, the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee, said on Tuesday that she continues to support studying the issue of reparations for descendants of slaves.

As a U.S. senator from California, she co-sponsored a bill to create a federal commission to examine slavery reparations and make recommendations on the issue.

Harris stopped short of backing a specific reparations plan.

“On the point of reparations, it has to be studied. There’s no question about that. And I’ve been very clear about that position,” said Harris during an interview with host Charlamagne Tha God.
