President Joe Biden in a rant on Tuesday night slammed former President Donald Trump as a “loser” and claimed that he believes the former president is running to “stay out of jail.”

The rant occurred during an address at a Philadelphia City Committee dinner, where he stated that more Americans “are working today” than in any other time since the former president left the White House in 2021, according to The Hill.

“401Ks are strong, violent crime is down, murder is down and fewer people are crossing the border, and Trump calls that a hellscape? He talks about America being a failed nation, where the hell’s he from?” Biden asked. “It makes me angry … I say America’s winning, we’re the most powerful nation in the world, the most respected nation in the word. … Trump says we’re losers, but the only loser I know is Donald Trump.”

The president also claimed Trump was “dishonest,” and slammed his refusal to accept the results of the 2020 election. He also criticized the former president for allegedly stoking misinformation regarding the election, and mentioned his convictions of falsifying business records in 2016 to conceal an affair with former porn star Stormy Daniels.

“I want to watch that sentence,” Biden said, referring to Trump’s Nov. 26 sentencing. “I think he’s running to stay out of jail.”

The president also praised Vice President Kamala Harris’ loyalty to him despite running her own presidential campaign, claiming she was going to “cut her own path.”

“Kamala will take the country in her own direction, and that’s one of the most important differences in this election,” Biden said, per the Associated Press. “Kamala’s perspective on our problems will be fresh and new. Donald Trump’s perspective old and failed and quite frankly, thoroughly totally dishonest.”
